Vauxhall has hopes of opening up another new niche segment with its Adam ROCKS concept - the industry's first urban mini-crossover apparently.
Based on the recently launched (and highly customisable) Adam, the ROCKS sports a higher ride height, wider track and full length canvas roof for open air driving. The concept's 'fierce design and muscular proportions' are said to have been inspired by urban parkour athletes.
"With even bolder design than any other Adam, the ROCKS shows the vast potential for personalisation our stylish urban-chic newcomer offers," comments Malcolm Ward, Vauxhall/Opel's Lead Design Director. Ward goes on to describe the Adam ROCKS being ideal for "fashion-led, active drivers wanting to stand out from the crowd".
The standard version of the Adam currently offers over a million variations in equipment, colours and trim levels and the addition of the ROCKS version gives even greater personalisation potential. The concept will be showcased on the Vauxhall/Opel stand at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
