Subaru has released a teaser shot of a coupé it intimates will begin its styling renaissance.
'Confidence in Motion' is the title of the design revival. And while the phrase is as typically meaningless and fluffy as all these things, the car itself should prove significant.
For not only does it represent a rakish new Scooby, it also ushers in a new age of environmental savvy.
In the press release accompanying the shot, the company claims it "believes automobiles should be more than just means of simple transportation, they should also be a source of enjoyment, and enjoyment rests on a foundation of peace of mind."
So, the Subaru Nirvana (not its real name) should be environmentally sound, suggesting a hybrid or full electric drivetrain.
There's also the issue of the Toyota FT-86 coupé concept - that's the Celica replacement that was developed with Subaru. It has never been confirmed, but Subaru has always been expected to unveil its own version of that car. Could this be it?
We'll find out November 17 with the new Subaru makes its debut at the
LA Auto Show.
