Toyota has released the brand new 10th Anniversary to mark the tenth birthday of the Prius. Although this is an entirely different animal to the original.
The 10th Anniversary marks a massive departure for Toyota and the Prius, from eco-friendly poster boy to bad boy racer. It is just a UK edition marking a decade of British sales.
The 10th Anniversary retains economy as its first priority, but is spiced up with edgy new styling. The modifications have had no effect on the Prius' economy and emissions figures, which remain at 70.6mpg and 92g/km of CO2.
The specifications match that of the top of the range T-Spirit, so it comes with satnav, rear parking monitors, park assist, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control and a head-up display. Toyota offers a choice of two colours: Pearl White or Astral Black. Both come with tinted privacy glass, 17-inch multi-spoke alloys and a body kit comprising front, side and rear skirts.
One major difference, however, is the price. Costing £26,150, the special edition is £2,752 more expensive than the current range topping T-Spirit.
Production for this variant is limited to 1,000 examples. First deliveries of the Prius 10th Anniversary can be expected before the end of the year.
