Fiat has announced its new Doblo. It offers more space and lower emissions than the outgoing model. Sales will start in early 2010.
Living up to its billing, the 2010 Doblo is based on a new platform. Fiat claims it offers 'best in class' interior space thanks to a 2,755mm wheelbase. There is 790 litres of luggage space and up to seven seats. The interior is described as 'flexible' with a variety of storage solutions.
The engine range includes a 94bhp petrol motor and three diesel units with 89-, 104- and 133bhp. A dual-fuel version will be introduced later (although not for the UK) and an additional diesel engine with automated manual transmission is also in the pipeline. All engine variants come with automatic Start&Stop to save fuel. The 89bhp turbodiesel model boasts CO2 emissions of 129g/km.
The Doblo comes with all the usual safety equipment including a front side airbag that is claimed to offer protection for both head and chest. Automatic climate control, parking sensors and built in 'Blue&Me TomTom' navigation system are also available.
Details of prices and equipment levels are still to be released and the Doblo will go on sale early next year.
