Of late it is the lower end of the compact SUV niche that has swollen with a raft of new models from Honda, Nissan and Peugeot to name but a few. We drove Chevrolet's Captiva for a week, itself a close relative of the Vauxhall Antara, to see whether the ambitious brand could stake a claim to honours in the £20-25k sector.
