What's the news?
Ford has frozen the entry-point price of the new Focus - due in showrooms in November - at £13,995, with the top-spec Titanium and Titanium X facelifted versions £100 cheaper than their current equivalents.
There are six trim levels in the range, with the Studio the cheapest, followed by the Style (£16,795), Zetec (£18,295), Zetec S (£20,045), Titanium (£19,795) and Titanium X (£21,795).
As well as a tidy facelift, the new Focus also has some extra gadgetry, such as Perpendicular Parking - an extension of the Active Park Assist technology - and MyKey, which allows settings on the car to be limited and matched to a specific key for those occasions when inexperienced drivers (read: hothead young kids) get behind the wheel.
Mechanicals
There are a couple of revised powertrain options, such as a tweaked 120hp 1.5-litre diesel that drops CO2 emissions from 109- to 98g/km, as well as improving fuel economy by 10 per cent. There's a tasty 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol engine replacing the current 1.6 turbo too, the new unit making the same outputs of 182hp and 270Nm, but reducing fuel economy by seven per cent and CO2 to 127g/km. The diesels start at £17,995 and also cut fuel consumption by 10 per cent.
Anything else?
The Focus will benefit from the second generation of Ford's connectivity interface, SYNC2. You can watch a short video about this technology below.
