What's the news?
Following in the tyre tracks of the Fabia, Skoda's Citigo has been given the Monte Carlo treatment. The new edition of the small city car builds on the existing SE trim level but adds plenty more features. Rolling on 15-inch alloy wheels (16-inch options are available for a small price), the Citigo Monte Carlo is also lowered by 15mm. Rear windows are tinted, as is the sunroof, while a black radiator grille and lower air dam, black door mirror covers, spoiler and rear diffuser all combine to give the Skoda a very distinctive appearance.
This theme extends to the interior, where a leather-trimmed steering wheel features contrasting red stitching that is found on the handbrake and gear lever as well. Also present are some sports seats and a plaque on the dashboard reminding you that this is a Monte Carlo edition. Buyers will also get Skoda's PID (Portable Infotainment Device) thrown in, which, in addition to serving as a hands-free phone kit and media streaming device, also features satellite navigation.
Power for the Citigo Monte Carlo comes in the form of the three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine in 60hp guise, which is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. It returns an official 62.8mpg on the combined cycle and has CO2 emissions of 105g/km.
Anything else?
Skoda will make the Citigo Monte Carlo edition available in both three- and five-door body styles. Prices start at £10,590 for the three-door and rise to £10,940 for the five-door.
