The latest offer to come out of Volvo Cars UK is like none other that we're currently aware of in the motoring industry.
The campaign is called 'Bored of German Techno? Try some Swedish Metal' and pits the new V40 D2 R-Design against its direct rival from Mercedes-Benz - the A 180 CDI BlueEfficiency Sport. Customers are encouraged to test drive both models back-to-back; and for those who prefer, and subsequently buy, the Mercedes, Volvo will pay the first month's instalment towards the A-Class.
"We have such belief in the V40 being a fantastic product that we're being bold enough to put our money where our mouth is," states John Wakefield, Sales Director for Volvo Cars UK. "The all-new V40 has been a roaring success since its introduction."
Roaring success is right, quickly becoming the company's best-selling model across the standard, R-Design and Cross Country specification levels. Since its launch at the Paris Motor Show last year, Volvo has sold an impressive 4,905 examples in the UK - making up 36 per cent of its total vehicle sales.
Georgina Williams, Head of Marketing for Volvo Cars UK commented, "Some may call us brazen, others may call us bold, but there's no denying that this campaign will raise a few eyebrows!"
Those wanting to take advantage of the offer need to do so quickly; as Volvo will only cough up the first month's payment if the A-Class is registered before 31st July.
