Gemballa has chosen the Goodwood Festival of Speed (11-14 July) to show off its new GT Spider, based on the McLaren MP4-12C Spider. The Spider will make its UK debut on the Michelin stand at the festival.
A carbon fibre styling kit is fitted; the front valance, side skirts and rear valance were apparently developed using digital measurement to ensure a good fit. As well as saving weight the kit is designed to give the McLaren a 'more emotional appearance'. More weight is saved with the forged aluminium wheels that are larger than standard; 20-inch rims on the front axle and 21-inch at the rear. Two different wheel designs are available each with two choices of finish.
Gemballa can also re-trim the McLaren's interior in custom-finish leather with colour matched gauges in the instrument cluster. If you fancy giving your 12C Spider the Gemballa treatment, expect to pay at least £30,000.
