Peugeot will show off the Onyx concept car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. To prove that it isn't just for show the mid-engined, 600hp diesel hybrid will run up the hill; and Peugeot is holding a prize draw for the opportunity to sit in the passenger seat for the journey.
On the way up the hill the competition winner will get to experience the Onyx's futuristic cabin with its wood grain dashboard made from recycled newspaper. The run won't be a sedate affair either, with electric motors contributing a further 80hp to the output of the 3.7-litre V8 turbodiesel. With less than 2kg for each of those horsepower to propel, the power-to-weight ratio is better than a standard Bugatti Veyron's.
Competition entry is free and open to anyone over 18 years old; the winner will receive two tickets to the Festival of Speed and the draw will take place on 1st July. For full terms and conditions and to enter go to
