What's the news?
The new limited-edition Citroen C1 Connexion has been created by over 24,000 members of the public on Citroen's official Facebook page. It is the first production car ever to be created from an app, with the most popular configuration making the finished model - including the car's badging.
Exterior
The C1 Connexion is based on the current mid-range VTR model, which in standard guise sports daytime-running LEDs over the base VT trim. The Connexions edition adds 14-inch 'Rift' alloy wheels, tinted windows and Caldera Black metallic paint with contrasting Scarlet Red door mirrors, handles and rear number plate surround.
Interior
Standard VTR trim levels include air conditioning, front electric windows and four airbags. The Connexion edition also features Scarlet Red styling details on the dials, gear lever, centre console, door inserts, floor mats and air vents to mirror the outside of the car.
Mechanicals
The C1 Connexion is powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine developing 68hp while returning 65.7mpg and emitting 99g/km of CO2. These figures make the special edition exempt from road tax and London's congestion charges.
Anything else?
Priced from £9,495, the C1 Connexion is £500 more than the VTR version, despite having £925 in trim and equipment over the standard model. Both three- and five- door Connexions are on sale now.
