What's the news?
Vauxhall's new limited edition 'Black Edition' Corsa adds a new engine to the range, a punchy 1.4 Turbo unit with stop-start, making it one of the most powerful Corsas on the market.
Exterior
Using the Corsa Limited Edition as its base the new Black Edition adds a black logo bar, 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, body-coloured front lower spoiler, side sills, rear lower skirt and rear spoiler to give it the sportiest look this side of the Corsa VXR. The menacing black look is further emphasised by dark head- and tail lights and tinted windows.
Interior
Inside, the Black Edition is fitted with sports seats, a leather-covered steering wheel, sports pedals, silver seat stitching and matt chrome air vent surrounds. Customers can personalise their car from the wide-ranging options list that includes the Touch and Connect infotainment system, climate control and adaptive forward lighting.
Mechanicals
The Black Edition introduces Vauxhall's new 1.4 Turbo stop-start unit to the Corsa range. With 120hp and 175Nm of torque the new engine becomes the second most powerful non-VXR offering in the line-up, after the 130bhp 1.7-litre CDTi diesel engine.
Vauxhall says the new unit will propel the Black Edition from 0-62mph in 9.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 121mph, while fuel economy is 51.4mpg and CO2 emissions are as low as 129g/km thanks in part to standard stop-start.
Anything else?
The Black Edition Corsa will be available in a limited production run of 500 units, in both three- and five-door body styles, with prices starting from £15,995 for the three-door and £16,425 for the five-door.
