2012-03-28: £1,000 discount on new C1

Citroen has released initial details of its facelifted C1, which is set to take its bow at the Brussels Motor Show. Entering the UK market in April the refreshed model will sport a new face, complete with redesigned bonnet, grille and LED daytime running lights, mimicking those of Citroen's DS range. The new C1 also gains new 'Notus' design 14-inch wheels and is available with 'Rift' 14-inch alloy wheels on top of the range models.

Under the bonnet the C1's 67bhp three-cylinder petrol engine is even more efficient with fuel economy of up to 65.7mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km for the manual model, making it exempt from congestion charging and road tax.

The C1 is also available with Citroen's paddle-operated Electronic Gearbox System (EGS) that delivers 62.8mpg and emits 104g/km of CO2.

At launch the C1 will be available in Botticelli blue, a shade that is currently only offered in the C3 and DS3 ranges. The line-up of body colours also includes Scarlet red, Electra blue, Lipizzan white, Caldera black and two grey tones - one light, Gallium grey - and one dark, Carlinite grey. Entry-level models will come with Mistral 'Nokimat' cloth interior while new 'Orsai' upholstery will be available on most versions. For the first time a leather/Alcantara option will also be made available.

Final UK specifications and pricing details are still to be confirmed but we expect to know more once the C1 is unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show on Tuesday 10 January.
