Mitsubishi has released details of the 2012 model year Shogun. There is a new, Euro V compliant engine, re-named trim levels and updated styling.
To identify the revised model there is a new chrome grille, a colour-keyed front bumper, black front skid plate and twelve-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels. The interior has been updated too with 'high quality' material for the cloth and leather upholstery options. There is also enhanced illumination for the instruments and a brushed silver finish for the electric window switches.
The new grade structure replaces the Equippe, Elegance and Diamond versions with SG2, SG3 and SG4 respectively. Only the Warrior version is carried over, sitting between the SG2 and SG3. New features include a brake override system that cuts the accelerator if the driver accidentally presses that pedal at the same time as hitting the brakes. SG3 and SG4 versions come with automatic lights, automatic wipers and privacy glass.
As before the Shogun is available in short wheelbase three-door and long wheelbase five-door versions. All variants come with a 197bhp turbodiesel engine. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions range from 33mpg and 224g/km for the long wheelbase automatic to 36.2mpg and 207g/km for the short wheelbase manual model.
Prices for the 2012 Mitsubishi Shogun range from £29,499 to £40,999.
