What is it?

The third car in Fisker's Karma range, after the saloon and drop-top. The Surf boasts more practicality for those eco-friendly buyers with active lifestyles by adding an estate rear to the lithe lines of the Karma saloon. Good looks mix with environmental credibility: the Karma Surf can drive up to 50 miles in pure electric mode.

Why's it here?

Why not? After all, the Karma's platform allows alternative body styles relatively easily and it's not difficult to add a larger boot to a saloon. It looks good too, and despite appearing relatively small, the load space benefits markedly by the addition of the Surf's estate rump.

Show stopper or floor filler?

Good as it looks this one's a bit of a filler from Fisker, as it's an estate version of an existing (albeit, rare and technologically advanced) car not exactly among the must-sees at the Frankfurt show. The big news at Fisker is sealing the deal for BMW engines for its next vehicle range - dubbed Project Nina. However, if you're an eco-freak who likes a practical performance machine then head over to Hall 5.
