Almost inevitably, Porsche has added a four-wheel drive Carrera 4 version of its uprated GTS model to the 911 range. With 402bhp from its 3.8-litre engine, the Carrera 4 GTS covers 0-62mph in 4.6 seconds as a Coupé or 4.8 seconds in Cabriolet form.
As standard, the Carrera 4 GTS comes with a six-speed manual gearbox, though buyers can choose the PDK double-clutch transmission. Going for the PDK gearbox knocks 0.2 seconds off the 0-62mph time of both the Coupé and Cabriolet models.
Like the two-wheel drive GTS, the Carrera 4 has 23bhp more than a standard 911 Carrera, along with 310lb.ft of torque. The Coupé is good for 26.9mpg and 247g/km of carbon dioxide emissions.
The Carrera 4 GTS comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, Sport-Design front spoiler and Alcantara seat upholstery. Starting price for the Coupé is £83,145 and £90,024 for the Cabriolet, and sales start in July in the UK.
