The AA has announced today (April 1, 2011) that its patrol vans will be fitted with pothole-filling equipment. This solution comes in response to AA members' concerns about the number of potholes on the UK's roads.
A £250,000 investment by the AA has resulted in the "quick seal yellow" to fill potholes with minimal delay. Pothole Assist will work while the AA's patrol vans are idle between breakdown calls.
To tackle more badly damaged roads, the AA says it will completely cover the road with quick seal yellow and paint the previous yellow lines in black to make them stand out.
Edmund King, AA president, said: "We hope drivers will appreciate our efforts on their behalf when they see a yellow polka dot road ahead. If our members see a yellow brick road, they will know the AA has been there first."
When a pothole has been filled with quick seal yellow, it then has the AA's logo printed into the top. The AA says it can supply its new road-filling system in other colours.
