BMW has unveiled the most impressive pickup we've seen since the Car Enthusiast Christmas Party 2004.
According to BMW it's the fastest pickup ever made - which would include, then, the iconic Ford F150 Lightning.
There are no official performance stats, but the combination of the M3's 414bhp V8 engine and lack of weight over the back axle should make it splendidly rapid.
What that does to the handling is anyone's guess, but our advice would be to fill the rear deck with bricks before setting off for the Nürburgring. The rear deck, as it happens, holds 20 golf bags.
The press release accompanying these awesome pictures claims that the car will 'fire the imaginations of all motorists with a deep appreciation of top performance matched by a keen practical bent.'
Sadly there are no plans for production. After the photo shoot, the car was whisked away to BMW's Bavarian factory, where it will be used as a 'workshop transport vehicle'. The lucky bar stewards.
