What is it?
An extravagant super saloon with a V8 engine and a hybrid system to boot. It will cost £120,000 or more when it goes on sale in 2015 and take on heavyweights like the Aston Martin Rapide.
Why's it here?
It's part of Lotus' massive expansion plans and the Eterne is the most expensive of the lot. A saloon is something of a change for Lotus, too. A Lexus V8 engine provides most of the power with 550- or 620bhp depending on which model you choose. There's also a pair of electric motors at the rear and an energy recovery system.
Show stopper or floor filler?
A hybrid Lotus saloon is certainly something new and the company is clearly keen to take on big players like Porsche and Aston Martin. We won't see the Eterne in showrooms for five years, so Lotus reckons that there could be some changes in that time.
