If the headline didn't give the game away, would you have guessed that the Shinari concept car above comes from Mazda? The gorgeous four-door 'coupé' embodies the company's new 'Kodo' design language, which replaces the flowing 'Nagare' style with 'soul of motion'. Whatever, it looks fabulous, and, crucially, much closer to reality than Mazda's concept cars of the past few years.
Mazda's new head designer, Ikuo Maeda, is obviously a fan of contemporary Jaguar and Maserati design, though the concept's interior appears to have a pretty original cockpit-like layout. Whether the show car points to a more luxurious replacement for the RX-8, or a new car to sit above the Mazda6 in the range, remains to be seen.
That's pretty much all we know about the Shinari for now. It'll make its world debut at the Paris Motor Show on September 30.
