A procession of zero- and low-emission vehicles is gearing up to trace the classic London to Brighton route and there will be some of the current crop of Formula One star drivers at the wheel.
The 2010 Bridgestone Eco Rally sets off from Brighton on 7 July and comes to a finish in London's Hyde Park after tracing the famous London to Brighton run route in reverse.
Bridgestone is calling in some of its Formula One partners to help with the Eco Rally, but it's keeping the exact names a secret until the event starts.
Andy Dingley, of Bridgestone, said: "We're delighted to be involved with the Eco Rally. It's a fantastic event that showcases the vehicles of the future and really highlights the versatility of different environmentally friendly fuels."
Electric vehicles will take pride of place in this year's Eco Rally to help headline the Government's forthcoming grants for plug-in electric cars.
At the finish of the Eco Rally, a free exhibition will be held at the Albert Memorial to showcase green transport.
