SEAT has revealed the all-new 2010 Alhambra, which shares its platform with the Volkswagen Sharan (launched last month). The new people carrier offers greater space for passengers as it is now 22cm longer and 9cm wider than the previous model.
Both rear doors slide for access and a new range of TDI and TSI engines provide between 138- and 197bhp.
The MPV has a new and more spacious boot with up to 2,297 litres of space depending on the seat configuration, while fuel consumption has also been improved.
A choice of two TSI engines and two TDI engines is offered, available with a seven-speed, dual-clutch DSG transmission. The entry-level version is equipped with a 1.4-litre TSI engine that offers 148bhp. The top of the range variant is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI unit that delivers 197bhp.
The most economical version of the Alhambra is equipped with a 2.0-litre TDI engine with 138bhp, which has an average consumption of 51.0mpg.
According to James Muir, President of SEAT, S.A, the car offers consumers "exceptionally good value for money".
"Innovation and intelligence are the keywords for our new Alhambra. It represents a major step forward in terms of usability as well as dynamics and safety. Its impressive concept combines the highest levels of functionality and state-of-the-art technology with excellent quality and workmanship."
