Having limited the
mouth watering Focus RS500 to just 500 units, Ford has announced that any RS owner can essentially have its engine. A tuning package will take the standard car up to the RS500's 345bhp.
Developed with Ford tuning specialists Mountune, the warranty-backed upgrade is available to UK customers first before it goes Europe-wide. There's no word on cost yet.
Called the MP350 package (denoting its metric horsepower figure), the car also gets 15lb.ft more torque, taking the total to 339lb.ft.
Matthias Tonn, Chief Programme Engineer for the RS500 project, said: "While the limited edition RS500 will remain the ultimate Focus RS, this upgrade provides existing customers with the attractive Ford-approved performance enhancement option that many RS owners have been asking for."
It still doesn't top the Graham Goode Racing RS upgrade though, which gets the car to 368bhp with the same 339lb.ft. That costs £3,750 fully fitted.
