The Alfa Romeo MiTo is the latest recipient of Fiat's MultiJet II diesel engine. As well as meeting the latest Euro 5 emissions standards it is the most economical engine in the range.
The new unit develops 95bhp thanks to the inclusion of the latest high-precision injectors and a second generation variable vane turbocharger. Compared to the outgoing power unit low speed torque is said to be up to 25% greater. With the new engine the claimed performance figures are 0-62mph in 11.6 seconds, 112mph top speed and 65.7mpg - with CO2 emissions of 112g/km.
Prices start at £13,995 for the MiTo 1.3 JTDm-2 Turismo with Lusso and Veloce versions also available at £14,815 and £15,785 respectively.
