The MINI crossover seats four adults, comes as standard with front-wheel drive, offers four-wheel drive as a circa-£1k option on certain models, and will start at just £16,000. That's all you need to know to make you understand that MINI won't struggle to shift the Countryman.
Why's it here?
Until now, nothing MINI has produced could be called practical by anyone with eyes and legs, but this changes that. We can confirm that the back seats are useful for two adults or three children. We can also confirm that every WAG and WAG wannabe will wannabe in one of these shortly.
Show stopper or floor filler?
Show stopper. MINI even drove the Countryman onstage beneath a giant baseball cap, which may have been a not-so-subtle reminder of the MINI Roadster and Coupé that didn't show up. Expect to see the new crossover in MINI showrooms this autumn.
