Toyota has released information on its
Geneva Motor Show line-up. Models on display will include the Auris hybrid, the FT-86 sports concept and the 2010 RAV4.
As part of Toyota's professed environmental concern, the firm will unveil the Auris HSD (Hybrid Synergy Drive) that it says will be an integral part of the Auris range for 2010. Built in Britain at the Burnaston factory, the HSD avails of Toyota's full hybrid powertrain and clean engine technology. The Auris HSD will go on sale in Europe this summer.
Keeping with the theme of environmental motoring, the production version of the Prius Plug-in Hybrid, the all-electric FT-EV II concept and the FCHV-adv (Toyota's next-generation hybrid) will line up alongside the Auris HSD.
In terms of performance cars, Toyota plans to give the FT-86 sports concept its European debut. The FT-86 is a driver-focused, rear-wheel drive car developed in conjunction with Subaru. It is not yet clear when a production version will be revealed.
The 2010 version of Toyota's RAV4 will also be on hand in Geneva. The compact SUV will feature a revised interior and front-end design.
Toyota plans to hold a press conference at
the Geneva Show in Hall 4 on March 2 at 4.30pm.
