Protoscar, a relatively unknown automotive supplier, will release its latest project at the Geneva Motor Show. The LAMPO2 has two electric motors, all-wheel drive and is reportedly capable of a five-second sprint to 62mph, whilst having enough juice to run 124 miles on a single charge.

The LAMPO2, a more environmentally friendly successor to the original LAMPO, is based on General Motors' Kappa platform, which underpins the likes of the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky and the Opel GT. Protoscar stresses that it has taken into consideration factors like weight, aerodynamics and the effectiveness of individual components in order to make the LAMPO2 less wasteful than its predecessor.

However, in comparison to the Tesla Roadster, the LAMPO2 appears to come out slightly the worse for wear on paper. The Tesla is a full 1.3 seconds quicker to 62mph and is over 300kg lighter than its Swedish counterpart.

What appears to be the LAMPO2's main selling point is the various ways in which it can be charged. There are four different charging methods being showcased, with the most interesting being a fast charge capability that allows the LAMPO2 to cover 62 miles after only ten minutes of charge time.

The Protoscar LAMPO2 can be seen at the Geneva Motor Show on 2nd March, but we doubt it'll make production any time soon.
