Renault has announced two new entry-level models for the Mégane Sport Tourer and Laguna Coupé ranges. The Mégane is now available from £14,935 and the Laguna costs £19,995. Both can be ordered now and will be in showrooms from the New Year.
Each car is the entry level model of its respective range. The Mégane Sport Tourer Extreme comes with either a 1.6-litre, 99bhp petrol engine or a 1.5-litre, 85bhp turbodiesel. Standard equipment includes ESP, air conditioning and RDS radio incorporating CD player and AUX input. The petrol version costs £14,935, with £1,750 more for the diesel.
The Laguna Coupé TomTom is based on the dCi 150. As the name suggests it comes with a Carminat TomTom satellite navigation system. Other standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, satin chrome centre console and xenon headlamps. The coupé range now starts at £19,995.
Renault's prices are quoted at the current 15 percent VAT rate. Customers ordering cars now for delivery before March can take advantage of the lower tax rate. Both models will be in showrooms from January 2010.
