Honda has announced prices for the 2010 CR-V. The range includes the latest 2.2-litre diesel engine, which is now available with an automatic transmission. Prices start at £20,175 for the petrol model and £22,135 for the diesel.

The 2.2-litre i-DTEC engine, first seen in the Accord, develops 148bhp and 258lb.ft. A choice of six-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission is offered. With the manual gearbox Honda claims 9.6 seconds for 0-62mph and a top speed of 118mph; choosing the self-shifting transmission adds a second to the 0-62mph time and knocks 2mph off the top speed. Economy and emissions are also worse for the automatic version with 38.2mpg versus 43.5mpg and 195g/km against 171g/km.

The 2.0-litre petrol engine is unchanged and matches the diesel for power albeit with less torque (141lb.ft). Key figures for the manual version are 118mph top speed, 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds, 34.4mpg and 190g/km.

Increased insulation around the engine and cabin is claimed to reduce noise and harshness, while there are also new, higher quality fabrics and plastics throughout the interior. Restyled bumpers and a revised radiator grille help to identify the latest model.

There are also new designs of alloy wheels - 17-inch rims for the SE, 18-inch for the ES and EX. All models get air conditioning and electrically adjusted and heated door mirrors. The ES also comes with cruise control, headlamp washers and part leather trim. Full leather upholstery is fitted to the EX along with voice activated satellite navigation and Xenon headlamps with an auto-on function.

Prices start at £20,175 for the 2.0-litre SE with automatic transmission available for an extra £1,300. The cheapest diesel costs £22,135 or £23,475 for the automatic. The most expensive CR-Vs include radar-controlled cruise control and collision mitigation, which make up Honda's Advanced Safety Pack. The 2.0-litre EX with the safety pack is £27,215 while the diesel automatic is £30,515.

All prices are quoted at 15% VAT and customers wishing to order before the rate goes up to 17.5% will be able to do so from 1st December. Cars will be in showrooms from 5th January 2010.
