What is it?
A 1.1 million Euro drop-top built in a series of just fifteen. Which means if you don't own an oil well, small country or software firm then it's out of your reach. In fact unless you're on first name terms with Lambo's CEO then it's likely you'll not be getting one of these. It's basically a decapitated version of the similarly limited - and also exceedingly expensive - Reventón coupé. It'll mess up your barnet at speeds up to 205mph, but what's the hurry? If you've spent so much money on a machine as overt as this then you're going to want to be seen in it - something the loss of roof makes even easier.
Why's it here?
Because anything that looks as wild as the Reventón Roadster deserves a mention in a show crammed full of electric and hybrid cars. With a 670bhp 6.5-litre V12 and two hotties permanently positioned alongside it on the stand it's gloriously un-pc in a world that's increasingly inclined towards environmental righteousness and more inconspicuous consumption. The Reventón Roadster really is a massive 'up yours' to both. We can't help but love it, not least because you could spend all day looking at the engine cover alone. A riot of angles, it's likely more people will gawp lustfully at this than anything else on the show floor at Frankfurt.
Show stopper or floor filler?
To some this will BE the show. Forget the Ferrari 458 Italia - you'll see that outside a nightclub in town near you soon - the Reventón Roadster is in a different stratosphere. If you miss it in Frankfurt you're never likely to see one again, let alone get as near to it as you can at the show.
