If you're concerned that we've got our picture mixed up here, we haven't; the Peugeot i0n really does look identical to the
Mitsubishi i-MiEV. That's because the i0n is the product of a joint venture between the two makers, which means the French and Japanese makers bag themselves a half price electric car.
It's due its debut in
Frankfurt, funnily enough, and really that's about all we know for the time being. If there are any revelations during its unveil we will of course fill you in, but for the time being all we know is that it taps power for the electric motor from a lithium ion battery pack and has an 80-mile range. Ah, and we also know it has a snazzy 'localised communication unit' that can send data to places automatically, such as a dealer if the battery pack is on the blink, or your boss if you're doing fewer business miles than you're claiming for.
We don't know what it will cost yet (apart from your job if you're not careful), but we do know it goes on sale in Spring 2010.
