Peugeot has given the 207 CC a facelift for the summer. There are styling changes and a new, Euro 5 compliant, engine. As before, the CC is offered in two trim levels: Sport and GT. Expect the new model to reach dealers this August with prices starting at £16,695.
Styling changes include a redesigned front grille and circular fog lamps, while the fog lamp surrounds and the grille also feature chrome detailing. At the back, LED lamps have been fitted and the lower rear bumper is now painted body colour on the 207 CC GT and the Sport when rear parking sensors are fitted. New alloy wheels feature too: 16-inch rims on the Sport and 17-inch items for the GT.
The interior gets a redesigned centre console, with a more modern look to the air conditioning controls. Other new features include a driver's window with one-touch closing. CCs fitted with the latest Euro 5 compliant VTi engine also get a gear-shift indicator in the instrument panel. This suggests the optimum gear for economy and emissions.
The Euro 5 engine develops 120bhp and is one of four powerplants offered. With this unit Peugeot claims 0-62mph takes 10.7 seconds, while the combined cycle economy is 43.5mpg and CO2 emissions are 150g/km. The 1.6 VTi is also available with an automatic transmission that adds 1.9 seconds to the 0-62mph time, increases CO2 emissions by 21g/km and takes the fuel consumption down to 39.2mpg. Also offered are a turbocharged, 150bhp THP engine and a 110bhp HDi motor.
Standard safety features include Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Emergency Brake Assist. ESP is standard on the GT model and optional on the Sport and when combined with either the THP or HDi engine SSP is also fitted. SSP stands for Steering Stability Program and applies torque to the steering when braking on surfaces with different levels of grip on the left and right sides.
Prices start at £16,695 for the Sport 1.6 VTi 120 manual with GT trim adding £1,450 to the cost; the automatic transmission commands a £1,000 premium. The 150bhp THP engine only comes with GT trim and costs £19,045 while the HDi-powered GT is the most expensive version at £19,245. Look out for the new model in Peugeot dealers from August.
