Rolls-Royce has updated the Phantom and Phantom Extended Wheelbase models. There are styling, equipment and trim upgrades for the Goodwood-built cars, which will start production in the spring.
The Phantom receives a minor facelift to align the styling with the Drophead and Coupé models. The front bumper is more streamlined and is integrated with a redesigned, shallower stainless steel radiator grille. Other visual changes include door handles with LED illumination. The old, oddly-sized metric rims and Michelin PAX tyres have been dropped in favour of standard 21-inch alloy wheels with a further two patterns of forged alloy wheel offered with either painted or part polished finishes.
Inside, rear-seat passengers can now connect portable DVD players, MP3 devices and other accessories to the rear 12-inch monitors with the RCA component input. People who choose to read rather than watch will appreciate the new bi-directional reading lamps in the C-pillars. All passengers will benefit from the relocated climate control, volume and electric window switches as well as the new door cappings with integrated grab handles.
The updated Phantom models will go into production in the spring. We expect to see the updated version at
next month's Geneva Motor Show.
