What's all this about?
Kia has given us a clearer - but still obscured - look at the styling of its forthcoming Niro HUV.
HUV?
Hybrid Utility Vehicle. The Niro will be the first Kia built on the company's dedicated eco-car platform and should realise CO2 emissions of less than 90g/km from its petrol-electric drivetrain.
Is it just me, or does what we can see of the Niro thus far indicate it will look a lot like a Sportage?
It certainly borrows a lot of styling cues from the Koreans' hugely popular mid-sized crossover. The front end has the similar detached lights and tiger-nose grille formation of the all-new Sportage that's due out very soon, while the rear looks a lot like the Mk3 that is about to be superseded.
When will we next see more of the Niro?
When it is revealed to the world for the first time at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show in February.
