What's the news?
Skoda will be bringing a couple of concept cars, some rally legends and a few RS performance machines to Goodwood for this year's Festival of Speed.
Skoda's stand at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed promises to be a busy one, as it'll feature two of the Czech firm's latest concept cars, plenty of vRS goodness and even a few competition cars.
The Skoda Pavilion allows visitors to get involved too: they can ride a Skoda bicycle up the Skoda Summit, try a virtual Tour de France-style stage, enjoy displays by a cycle stunt team or drive a remote control Fabia S2000 rally car. Along with that, the Yeti Xtreme and VisionC concept cars will be appearing for the first time in the UK. The former is a rally-themed crossover with a 160hp 1.8-litre TSI engine, brakes from an Octavia vRS, 17-inch alloys and off-road rally tyres, plus an interior with four individual Recaro race seats and four-point harnesses. The VisionC previews a possible Volkswagen CC rival from the Czechs, being a five-door coupé with a natural gas drive system.
All a bit tame? Then buckle up for the Forest Rally Stage. British rally star Neil Simpson will helm a Fabia S2000 - the most successful rally car of the Super 2000 era - through the 1.7-mile stage and you can jump in as passenger. Or check out the 227mph Octavia vRS Bonneville that'll be on display - alongside a version of the 220hp road-going machine.
Anything else?
The Festival of Speed runs from June 26-29 at Goodwood.
